The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has announced a significant crackdown to halt the use of plastic shopping bags, which are contributing to pollution.
According to Express News, the DC Islamabad has established eight teams to enforce this crackdown. These teams will conduct operations against the use of plastic bags across various areas of the city, with oversight from all Assistant Commissioners of Islamabad.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz emphasized that reducing the use of polyethylene bags, which worsen environmental pollution, is a collective responsibility.
He also appealed to citizens to support the district administration in the fight against plastic bags.
