Kaghan Highway Finally Reopened After Two Weeks of Suspension

The Pakistan Army and the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) have successfully reconstructed the Mahandri Bridge, which was destroyed by flash floods on July 30, 2024. The reopening of the bridge has resumed traffic on the vital Naran-Kaghan route, bringing much-needed relief to local residents and tourists.

The destruction of the Mahandri Bridge had led to the closure of key roads, including those connecting Mansehra, Kaghan, Naran, and Babusar, causing severe disruptions and hardships. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the National Highway Authority (NHA) and FWO initiated the reconstruction of the bridge on an emergency basis.

The Pakistan Army played a crucial role by providing essential equipment for the construction, while the FWO deployed its machinery and manpower, working tirelessly day and night to complete the project. The collaborative efforts of the Pakistan Army and FWO have now restored a critical infrastructure link, facilitating the movement of all kinds of traffic.
