In a major step towards eco-friendly transportation, Pakistani and Chinese companies have joined forces to launch an electric motorcycle featuring swappable batteries. Note that this isn’t the first time a company has launched electric bikes with swappable batteries. Ezbike has a similar venture.
According to a report by Gwadar Pro, this partnership is set to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) sector in both countries. Business consultant Hammad Khalid has announced a thrilling new collaboration between Super Asia Motors Pvt Ltd from Pakistan and EGO New Green Energy Technology Limited of China.
The partnership aims to launch a cutting-edge electric motorcycle featuring swappable batteries, tailored for commercial and personal use.
Their plans also include introducing this technology to the three-wheeler commercial market. Hammad Khalid highlighted that the swappable battery system enables users to exchange an empty battery for a fully charged one in 10 seconds.
The new motorcycle will feature a top speed of 90 km/h, a range of 200 km with two batteries, and swappable solar-powered batteries accessible at petrol stations. Moreover, it can potentially save on fuel costs by up to 70% per kilometer.
“This cutting-edge project brings state-of-the-art technology to Pakistan, with a focus on locally developing components and parts. It also reflects our unwavering commitment to clean energy and job creation in Pakistan,” Hammad added.
In recent years, Pakistan and China have collaborated to introduce electric motorcycles, aiming to advance eco-friendly transportation and cut carbon emissions. Several Chinese firms, in partnership with local Pakistani businesses, are contributing to the growth of Pakistan’s electric vehicle sector.
