Nintendo Switch 2 Price Leaked with Potential Launch Date

A new report from Tokyo Security analyst Hideki Yasuda has shed light on the potential release window and pricing for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. According to Yasuda, while the console may not hit shelves during Nintendo’s current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025, it could still debut in the first half of 2025.

Yasuda’s analysis suggests a launch window between April and June 2025, should the console miss the current fiscal year cutoff. This timing would position the Switch 2 for a potential summer release, aligning with historical patterns of major console launches.

In addition to the release timeframe, Yasuda’s report provides insight into the possible pricing strategy for the new console. The analyst predicts a retail price of $499, marking a significant step up from the original Switch’s launch price.

There is little known about the upcoming Nintendo console to the point we don’t even know its official name yet. According to reports, the Switch 2’s performance is expected to be comparable to the Steam Deck. However, the console is said to feature a more robust GPU paired with a less powerful CPU than Valve’s handheld. This configuration could allow games to run at higher resolutions, albeit at lower frame rates.

One of the most intriguing rumors surrounds the inclusion of NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and Ray Reconstruction technologies. If true, these features could give the Switch 2 a significant advantage in certain scenarios, potentially surpassing even the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in ray tracing capabilities.

It’s important to note that these specifications are unconfirmed. As with all pre-release information, details may change before the console’s official unveiling.
