Anticipation is building for Huawei’s upcoming Mate 70 series, expected to launch later this year, as alleged images of the entire lineup have surfaced online. Following last year’s strategy, Huawei is rumored to introduce four distinct models: the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and the premium Mate 70 RS Ultimate.
The leaked images suggest that Huawei will maintain the signature large circular camera island across the series, a design element that has become characteristic of the Mate line. However, the arrangement of the camera sensors within this island appears to have been reconfigured, potentially indicating improvements or changes to the devices’ photographic capabilities.

Notably, the Mate 70 RS Ultimate stands out from its siblings with a unique octagonal camera housing and a more angular overall design. This distinctive appearance for the top-tier model could be Huawei’s way of further differentiating its ultra-premium offering within the lineup.
Huawei’s upcoming Mate 70 series is expected to maintain a pricing structure similar to its predecessor, with some notable adjustments. According to recent reports, the base model Mate 70 is set to start at $840 for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage configuration, mirroring the launch price of last year’s Mate 60.
The Mate 70 Pro is rumored to begin at $980 for the same 12/256 GB setup, again matching its predecessor’s initial pricing. Moving up the line, the Mate 70 Pro+ is anticipated to start at $1,260 for a 16/256 GB variant.
Interestingly, the top-tier Mate 70 Ultimate may see a price reduction compared to last year’s model. It’s expected to launch at $1,540 for the 16/512 GB configuration, less than the Mate 60 Ultimate’s starting price.
It’s worth noting that the launch timeline for the Mate 70 series has reportedly been pushed back. Sources indicate that Huawei plans to unveil these smartphones in the mid-to-late fourth quarter of this year, later than initially anticipated. As always, treat this information as speculative until Huawei officially announces pricing and release dates.
