Google Makes It Easier to Set Up New PC With This Feature

Google is making it easier to set up a new Windows PC by simplifying the way users access its apps and services with the launch of its new Google Essentials app.

This dedicated app, designed specifically for the Windows platform, will be pre-installed on select HP laptops, as revealed on Google’s official Keyword blog. While initial availability is limited to HP products, Google will eventually offer the Essentials app to all Windows users, though there is no official comment from Google.

Google’s new Essentials app promises seamless access to the tech giant’s popular services directly from the Windows start menu. Gamers can enjoy their favorite Google Play Games titles on a larger screen, with progress syncing effortlessly between devices.

Essentials also provide quick access to Google’s productivity suite, allowing users to work on documents with Google Docs, manage schedules with Google Calendar, and utilize other productivity tools. Google Messages will keep you up to date with texts on your phone as well.

Google Essentials offers flexibility, allowing users to remove any unwanted components. As an added incentive, Google is offering eligible users a complimentary two-month trial of Google One.

Though with all the bloatware Windows already comes with, you might want to be careful installing even more apps onto your system. Keep in mind that there are also web versions of most of the apps included with Google Essentials.
