Schools and Colleges Closed in Different Districts of Sindh

According to ARY News, the Sindh government has announced that schools in various districts will remain closed due to ongoing heavy rainfall.

In Mirpurkhas, schools will be closed on August 29 and 30, while in Jamshoro, all educational institutions will shut down for three days from August 29 to 31. The Deputy Commissioner of Sujawal has also declared a school closure in the district on Thursday due to the heavy rains. Similarly, schools in Sanghar will remain closed on August 29 and 30.

In Tando Allahyar and Matiari, all public and private educational institutions will be closed on Thursday as the respective Deputy Commissioners directed.

In Hyderabad district, all private and government schools will remain closed on August 29 due to relentless monsoon rains, as announced by the Deputy Commissioner. This decision, aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff, has been communicated to all educational institutions in the district. Hyderabad has already experienced significant disruption due to heavy rainfall, including a tragic incident where a child lost their life due to a roof collapse. Authorities have taken this precaution to prevent further accidents and protect the community.

However, schools in Karachi will remain open on Thursday, August 29, after the notification of school closures in the city’s Central District was withdrawn. This decision was made by Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, following updated advisories from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Previously, the Deputy Commissioner of the Central District had announced a general holiday for educational institutions due to the heavy rainfall forecast. However, after considering the revised advisory, the notification was withdrawn, and schools will now operate as usual. Parents and students are advised to confirm classes and timings with their respective schools. The decision to withdraw the closure was made to minimize disruptions to educational activities, and schools are expected to function normally on Thursday.
