Pakistanis Urged to Avail Visa Amnesty Scheme in the UAE

Pakistanis in the UAE have been encouraged to take advantage of the amnesty scheme launched by the UAE government to legalize their status.

Pakistani missions in the Emirates announced their full support for this initiative, aiming to help as many people as possible benefit from it. “The UAE government has introduced an amnesty scheme from September 1 to October 31, 2024. In response, the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai are providing all necessary assistance to Pakistani nationals in the UAE to ensure they can fully take advantage of this opportunity,” the missions stated on Monday.

To facilitate the process, the Pakistani embassy and consulate will remain open on Saturdays until the end of October 2024, allowing applicants to renew, update, or validate their documents. Consular services will be available, including the renewal or issuance of national identity cards, passports, and attestation services. Additionally, the outpass sections will issue outpasses or emergency travel documents for Pakistani nationals without passports to facilitate their return to Pakistan.

“The Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan are fully committed to supporting the Pakistani community during this period,” the missions emphasized in their statement.

Pakistanis are the second-largest community in the UAE after Indians, with approximately 1.7 million Pakistanis residing there. In 2023 alone, over 230,000 Pakistanis arrived in the UAE seeking better job and life opportunities.
