The Department of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal will begin distributing “Himmat Cards” in Punjab starting September 16. According to a spokesperson from the department, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will personally distribute the Himmat Cards to individuals with disabilities. In the first phase, 40,000 people will receive the cards, with 15,000 from Lahore being the initial recipients on September 16.
Through the Himmat Card, people with disabilities will receive Rs 10,500 every quarter. Registration for the card began in June.
The spokesperson further stated that under the Himmat Card initiative, the Bank of Punjab will issue ATM cards to 65,000 individuals across the province, which will be referred to as the Himmat Card. Preparations for a ceremony at a local hotel in Lahore are already underway.
