Sindh Bans Pillion Riding Ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi

The Sindh government has banned pillion riding on motorcycles across the province, including Karachi, from September 13 to 17. This decision, requested by IG Sindh, aims to enhance security during the Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations.

The Interior Department’s notification extends the ban to major cities such as Hyderabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. Eid Milad-un-Nabi, celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), will be observed on September 17, which falls on a Tuesday this year.

In related news, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori plans to discuss with the Prime Minister and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah the possibility of declaring the 11th and 12th of Rabiul Awwal as public holidays. Governor Tessori emphasized that this would help celebrate the occasion with greater enthusiasm.

On September 12 (Rabiul Awwal), Governor Tessori will host a special event at the Governor House, featuring illuminations and open access to the public. He noted that religious scholars have suggested extending the public holiday to both dates, and he aims to present this proposal to the higher authorities.
