To address the rising issue of fake medical visas, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has implemented a new verification system to confirm the authenticity of sponsors and applicants, sources revealed.
According to officials within the Interior Ministry, this system requires sponsors to verify their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), and a confirmation message is sent to their registered contact number before the application is approved.
This initiative comes in response to numerous fake medical visa cases, particularly involving Afghan patients who have exploited the visa system. The new system aims to prevent fraud and enhance the security of the visa process.
The Ministry of Interior is collaborating with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to gather expert input for further strengthening the system.
Speaking to Daily Ausaf, a senior interior ministry official emphasized their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the visa system and combating fraudulent activities, as directed by Interior Secretary Khurram Agha and under the supervision of Additional Secretary Ayub Chaudhary. “This new verification system is a positive step toward achieving that goal,” the official stated.
