As part of the Railway Rationalization Plan, 1,967 positions within the Railway Commercial Department have been abolished, as stated in a notification issued on Monday.
These positions are located across several major divisions, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta, and Karachi. The posts will be considered vacant after the current employees retire.
This move is part of a broader initiative to increase efficiency and resource management within Pakistan Railways. By eliminating redundant positions, the organization seeks to streamline its operations and better allocate its resources.
Following the issuance of the notification, all affected railway divisions have been directed to implement the decision accordingly. Divisional authorities have been instructed to make the necessary workforce adjustments in line with the new policy.
