E-Turbo Motors is making strides to improve its presence in Pakistan’s emerging electric vehicle (EV) market with affordable electric bikes. The company’s CEO, Sheikh Osama Nadeem, highlighted that their electric bikes are designed to provide a safe, smooth, and eco-friendly riding experience.
The company has invested approximately Rs. 500 million in its assembly plant, which can manufacture up to 10,000 bikes annually, as reported by Business Recorder. E-Turbo Motors has also secured a manufacturing license from the Engineering Development Board (EDB), a significant milestone in their journey toward establishing a foothold in the EV sector.
The official launch of their electric bikes is scheduled for mid-October 2024. So far, the company has sold over 200 units, receiving a positive response from customers.
Nadeem emphasized that one of their key differentiators in the market is the high speed of their bikes, with the top model reaching speeds of 120 km/h, making it the fastest electric bike in Pakistan. The basic variant, on the other hand, offers a speed of 75 km/h. The bikes provide a single charge range between 100 km and 300 km, depending on the model.
E-Turbo Motors electric bikes are powered by a lithium-ion LiFePO4 battery, which allows for higher range and quicker charging times. The bikes are also equipped with an efficient motor system, complemented by a Battery Management System (BMS) to optimize energy usage. Additionally, the lightweight design enhances the bikes’ overall performance and energy efficiency.
One of the key benefits of E-Turbo Motors electric bikes is their cost-effectiveness. While the initial pricing is competitive with petrol-powered bikes, electric bikes offer long-term savings on fuel and maintenance.
Unlike traditional bikes, electric vehicles require less frequent maintenance, such as occasional battery checks and tire services, eliminating the need for oil changes and reducing overall upkeep costs.
Looking ahead, E-Turbo Motors is planning to introduce more advanced models, including electric scooters and three-wheelers. The company also aims to broaden its distribution network across Pakistan and is exploring the possibility of exporting its electric bikes to international markets with a growing demand for environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
To accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Pakistan, Nadeem urged the government to offer tax reductions, and subsidies, and invest more in charging infrastructure. He believes that such measures would significantly boost the growth of the electric vehicle industry in the country.
