The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an auction for 90 exclusive number plates, set to take place on October 12 in Dubai.
The auction will feature distinguished 2, 3, 4, and 5-digit plates, including special numbers such as ‘AA17’ and ‘V96’. The available plates will carry codes from the series AA, L, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.
Bidders can begin registration on October 7, with the auction starting at 4:30 PM on October 12 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. Interested participants can register through the RTA’s website (www.rta.ae), the Dubai Drive app, or in person at the RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Al Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha.
Seats in the bidding hall are limited, with priority given to those who have registered in advance. Pre-registration is encouraged, though participants can also register on-site starting from 2:00 PM on the day of the event.
A 5% VAT applies to the sale of number plates. Bidders must have a traffic file in Dubai and submit a security cheque of AED 25,000 addressed to the RTA. Additionally, a non-refundable auction fee of AED 120 is required, which can be paid online, at the Customer Happiness Centres, or via the Dubai Drive app.
