Early Alert Issued on Possible Storm in Arabian Sea

The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) has raised an early alert regarding a developing low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea, which could intensify into a tropical storm. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the system is currently near the Lakshadweep island and is projected to move northwest.

In its statement, the NDMA cautioned that this weather system might strengthen into a cyclone, potentially affecting Pakistan’s coastline by mid-October. Authorities are urging residents of coastal areas to stay vigilant and follow official updates for any necessary precautions.

The NDMA is working with relevant agencies to monitor the storm’s trajectory and prepare for any emergency response. Citizens have been advised to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.

This alert follows Cyclone Asna, which formed in the Arabian Sea earlier in August. While Asna did not directly hit Pakistan’s shores, it brought significant rainfall to Sindh and Balochistan, impacting daily life in several areas. Officials are now preparing for the possibility of another storm, hoping to minimize any potential damage.
