SBP Enhances Regulatory Retail Portfolio Limit to Rs. 300 Million

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has enhanced the regulatory retail portfolio limit to Rs. 300 million.

“It has been decided to enhance the regulatory retail portfolio limit of Rs. 180 million, specified under the Basel Framework, to Rs. 300 million with immediate effect,” SBP said in a circular issued on Monday.

All other instructions on the subject shall remain unchanged, the circular added.

This limit has been enhanced with reference to earlier instructions issued on Minimum Capital Requirements in 2020 and regulatory relief to dampen the effects of COVID-19.
