The price of gold in Pakistan rose slightly on Monday to close in on the all-time high mark of Rs. 277,000 per tola.
According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) rose by Rs. 200 to Rs. 275,700 while the price of 24-karat gold stood at Rs. 236,368 per 10-gram, up Rs. 171.
In the international market, spot gold rose 0.1 percent to $2,658.67 per ounce by 0944 GMT, while the US gold futures were unchanged at $2,676.
It is pertinent to mention here that the price of the gold in the local market hit a record high of Rs. 277,000 per tola towards the end of September. However, the price has remained range bound since then.
