Honda Prelude Hybrid Spotted in Germany [Images]

The anticipation for the new Honda Prelude grows as it edges closer to entering production. Recently, a prototype Prelude was spotted testing on public roads in Germany, adding to the excitement.

When the stylish Prelude concept was unveiled last fall, it looked nearly ready for production.

Although the prototype is wrapped in a blue cover designed to disguise its design, key features like its curvy shape, narrow grille that blends into the headlights, and dramatically sloping rear roofline are still visible. The prototype also sports black multispoke wheels, similar to those seen on the concept model.

The latest spy shots do not reveal much new information, but it’s already known that the new Prelude will come equipped with a hybrid powertrain. While the idea of a manual transmission is appealing to some, it’s unlikely that Honda will adapt its hybrid system to support a manual option.

Regardless, fans of the Prelude nameplate can look forward to its return. Though there’s no confirmed release date for the United States, Honda has indicated that the Prelude could hit the European market as early as next year.
