The price of gold in Pakistan rose for the fifth straight day on Monday and closed in on the Rs. 300,000 per tola milestone.
According to data issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold (24 carats) rose by Rs. 500 per tola to Rs. 282,300, while the price of 10 grams was up by Rs. 429 to Rs. 242,027.
The price of gold stood at Rs. 275,000 per tola last Tuesday (October 15) and has since risen by Rs. 7,300 per tola in the last five sessions, hitting an all-time high in each of the five sessions.
Gold price also hit a record high in the international market on Monday with spot gold up 0.3 percent to $2,729.40 per ounce as of 0654 GMT, while the US gold futures rose 0.6 percent to $2,744.80.
