Rawal Institute of Health Sciences Launches Public Health Card

The Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS) has unveiled a Public Health Card program for families at an annual fee of Rs. 12,500. This initiative, introduced in collaboration with State Life Insurance, aims to enhance healthcare access for the community.

During the launch ceremony held at a local hotel, RIHS Chairman Khaqan Waheed Khawaja outlined the benefits of the Health Card Scheme. The scheme will provide patients with comprehensive treatment, including in-patient and out-patient services, surgical and dental care, and essential medications.

The scheme primarily targets underprivileged families, initially registering 5,000 families in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. There are plans to eventually extend the service nationwide, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

RIHS, which operates a 500-bed teaching hospital and a fully equipped medical college, is dedicated to fostering the development of future medical professionals. Khawaja emphasized the institute’s commitment to providing equitable opportunities for students, ensuring their growth as proficient medical and dental practitioners.

Established in 2011, the Rawal General and Dental Hospital began as a 200-bed facility and has since expanded significantly, introducing numerous specialties including cardiac, pediatric, and neurosurgery. The hospital continues to evolve, adding new units to meet the healthcare needs of its patients effectively.
