The price of gold in Pakistan registered an increase of Rs. 1,600 per tola on Tuesday to close just shy of an all-time high.
According to data issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold (24 carats) increased by Rs. 1,600 per tola to Rs. 285,000, while the price of 10 grams was also up by Rs. 1,372 to Rs. 244,342.
Yesterday, the price of the precious metal in the local market fell by Rs. 900 to close at Rs. 283,400 per tola. It is pertinent to mention here that the price of gold rose to an all-time high of Rs. 285,400 on October 23.
In the international market, spot gold rose 0.3 percent to $2,748.64 per ounce as of 1031 GMT, while the US gold futures gained 0.2 percent to $2,760.80.
