Pakistan Railways Introduces Special Karachi-Raiwind Train

Pakistan Railways (PR) has announced a special train service from Karachi to Raiwind to assist travelers. This new service aims to make travel easier for passengers heading to Raiwind.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the first train will leave Karachi on November 6 at 1:30 p.m. It is expected to reach Raiwind around 8:00 a.m. the next day. This special train consists of 14 economy-class coaches.

The ministry expects to earn around Rs. 8.5 million from this service. This revenue will contribute to PR’s goal of achieving over Rs. 100 billion in revenue for the next fiscal year (2024-25).

Earlier, Pakistan Railways reported a record income of Rs. 88 billion for the 2023-24 fiscal year, which ended on June 30. This amount is a 40% increase over the previous year and surpasses the target of Rs. 73 billion.

The revenue included Rs. 47 billion from ticket sales, Rs. 28 billion from freight services, and Rs. 13 billion from leasing railway land and other sources.

Pakistan Railways CEO Amir Ali Baloch thanked passengers for their trust in PR services. He highlighted the success of the Eid special trains, which had 100% bookings. Baloch attributed the increased revenue to improvements in PR services.
