The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced on Wednesday that a public holiday will be observed on Saturday, 9 November 2024, on account of Iqbal Day.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Saturday, November 09, 2024 being public holiday on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan,” the central bank said in a circular.
Commercial banks will also remain closed on the occasion.
Every year, Pakistanis celebrate the birth of Allama Iqbal on November 9, known most commonly as Iqbal Day.
