Dr Razia Fatima, who serves as the chief researcher and National Coordinator of Pakistan’s Common Management Unit (CMU) for TB, accepted the award on Tuesday.

This award marks a historic achievement as it is the first time a Pakistani national has been recognized with this honour. Dr Razia’s work has not only brought her international acclaim but also led to her recent selection to chair the TB section of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.
