The traffic police have reminded motorcyclists that only three days remain to take advantage of the ongoing relief initiative for obtaining learning and regular driving licenses. The scheme, which has received a strong public response, is set to end on November 30.
After this date, authorities will launch a crackdown on unlicensed riders. Citizens are encouraged to visit licensing centers with their original CNICs to secure their licenses and avoid legal action.
Additional Inspector General Mirza Farhan Baig highlighted the initiative’s success, noting that it has already benefitted over 1.2 million citizens.
According to official data, 460,940 individuals have obtained learning licenses, while 764,961 have acquired regular driving licenses. Additionally, more than 185,000 licenses were renewed during the relief period.
A traffic police spokesperson urged motorcyclists to act swiftly before the initiative concludes. “From December 1, the 42-day validity period for learning licenses will be strictly enforced again,” the spokesperson stated.
The scheme has been hailed as a significant step toward improving road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic regulations. Motorcyclists are urged not to miss this opportunity as the deadline approaches.
