Islamabad’s F8 Underpass to Open by December 31

On Wednesday, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange project to assess the ongoing construction progress. He announced that the underpass will be opened to traffic on December 31, while the entire project is expected to be inaugurated in the second week of February.

The minister highlighted the importance of completing the project on time and praised the contractor, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the workers for their continuous work, even during protests. He urged them to maintain their dedication to the project.

In addition to the F-8 Interchange, Naqvi revealed plans to make the F-10 Chowk signal-free to improve traffic flow on Jinnah Avenue. He reviewed the proposed plans for the F-10 project, suggested some changes, and instructed the team to begin construction without delay.

“Our goal is to provide maximum convenience to the public,” Naqvi stated. He emphasized that the successful completion of these projects would greatly enhance Islamabad’s traffic system.

During the briefing, officials informed the minister that the piling work for the F-8 project will be completed by December 3, with pile caps expected to be finished by December 12. The interchange project is on track to be finalized within the set timeline.

The F-10 Chowk project is scheduled to be completed alongside the F-8 Interchange, which is expected to bring long-term benefits to commuters in Islamabad.
