To address the ongoing issue of road damage in Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abedin has imposed a strict ban on road cutting. The decision comes after a recent incident where contractors from Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) were digging a section of Autobahn Road without approval to lay a fiber optic cable.
In a notification issued on Friday, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical condition of Hyderabad’s infrastructure, which has been severely affected by the heavy monsoon rains of 2022 and 2024. He pointed out that the city’s roads and buildings are already in dire need of maintenance and repair, and unauthorized road cutting only worsens the situation.
To prevent further deterioration of the city’s infrastructure, a ban on road digging has been enforced. Authorities are urging strict compliance with this directive to ensure the preservation of Hyderabad’s roads and to prioritize necessary repairs.
