The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is introducing automated self-service machines across Karachi to simplify applying for ID cards.
These kiosks will be installed in high-traffic areas such as NADRA mega centers, railway stations, airports, shopping malls, educational institutions, and government offices, offering residents easy access to essential services.
After a successful trial run in Islamabad, NADRA is expanding the initiative to address long wait times at its centers. The self-service machines will allow users to renew ID cards, replace lost ones, and apply for Child Registration Certificates (Form B).
Through these kiosks, citizens can input their details, complete biometric verification, and take photos. They can choose between normal and urgent processing options, and payment can be made using JazzCash, Easypaisa, or credit and debit cards by scanning a QR code generated by the machine.
NADRA Assistant Director Ammar Haider stated that the service would initially launch at NADRA mega centers before being extended to other public locations. The fully automated process aims to save time and minimize the hassle often faced at NADRA offices. ID cards will be delivered within 15 to 30 days of application completion.
