Bank advances increased by Rs. 1.1 trillion as of November 29, 2024, according to the latest data by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The banking sector’s ADR also improved to 47.8 percent. The sector’s total advances surged to Rs. 14.9 trillion by the end of November, compared to Rs. 13.8 trillion reported by end-October 2024, showing an increase of 8 percent month on month (MoM).
In October 2024, the banking sector advances grew by Rs. 1.473 trillion to Rs. 13.77 trillion from Rs. 12.3 trillion in September. On the other hand, bank deposits remained stable at Rs. 31.11 trillion in November as reported last month.
Bank investments showed a small increase of Rs. 0.1 trillion or 0.3 percent MoM in November to stand at Rs. 29 trillion, according to the SBP’s data.
The investment-to-deposit ratio clocked in at 93.2 percent in November 2024.
