In a recent session of the National Assembly, details regarding terrorist activities in Pakistan for this year were presented. According to the Ministry of Interior, there have been 1,566 incidents of terrorism in the country over the past ten months.
Of these, 948 incidents were in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 582 in Balochistan. During these attacks, 924 people were martyred, and 2,121 were injured. The Ministry of Interior further reported that 573 security personnel were martyred, and 1,353 were wounded in these terrorist activities.
Additionally, 135 civilians were martyred, and 768 others were injured in the attacks.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 948 terrorist incidents were reported, leading to 583 fatalities and 1,375 injuries. Among those martyred, 437 were security personnel, and 1,059 were injured. In Balochistan, 582 terrorist attacks resulted in the deaths of 307 individuals and injuries to 644 others. Among the security personnel, 110 were martyred, and 263 were wounded, while 197 civilians lost their lives.
In Sindh, 24 terrorist incidents were reported, resulting in 17 deaths and 38 injuries. Punjab witnessed 10 terrorist attacks, which led to 16 deaths and 63 injuries. Over the past ten months, 12,801 intelligence operations were conducted across the country. These operations led to the deaths of 341 terrorists, and 800 individuals involved in terrorist activities were arrested.
The Ministry of Interior also reported that 400 individuals involved in anti-state activities were arrested in Punjab, while 203 were detained in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 173 in Balochistan, 21 in Sindh, and three in Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, 2,466 people were arrested for providing financial support to terrorist organizations.
Under the Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) Act, 526 criminals were convicted for supporting terrorism. A total of 580 million rupees were recovered from individuals linked to terrorist groups.
