Islamabad Temperature Once Again Drops Below Freezing Point Amid Harsh Cold

The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported frigid temperatures across the country on December 19, 2024, with Islamabad experiencing a freezing -1°C. This marks one of the coldest nights of the season in the federal capital.

  • Murree: -3°C
  • Faisalabad: 4°C
  • Multan: 5°C

The cold wave has tightened its grip on northern areas, with Leh recording a bone-chilling -11°C and Skardu at -9°C. Even southern regions like Multan saw lower-than-usual temperatures at 5°C.

Residents in Islamabad and other cities are advised to take precautions as the cold wave is expected to persist in the coming days. The Met Office warns of severe weather in mountainous areas and urges preparedness for further drops in temperature.
