Pakistan Bar Council has barred Punjab University Law College in Lahore from admitting new LLB students, citing unmet legal requirements, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision was made due to the college’s failure to register law students with the Pakistan Bar Council. Additionally, inadequate facilities in the law research lab and the deteriorating condition of classrooms were highlighted as major concerns.
The council also noted that the college does not provide non-practicing allowances to its law tutors. During an inspection, Director of Legal Education Barrister Osama Malik identified multiple irregularities within the institution.
The Pakistan Bar Council has instructed the college administration to address these issues before resuming new admissions.
