Xiaomi has kicked off the new year with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 4, a powerful mid-range smartphone that combines performance, design, and affordability. It is the first device to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset.
Design and Display
The Redmi Turbo 4 boasts a dual-tone glass back while on the front, the 6.77-inch LTPS OLED screen has 1220p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the display delivers a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, ensuring visibility even in bright sunlight.
For added durability, Xiaomi has equipped the phone with IP69-graded protection. Moreover, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner offers both security and convenience.
Internals and Software
The newly customized MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset powers the Redmi Turbo 4 under the hood. This chipset can breeze through multitasking, gaming, and other demanding applications. Furthermore, the device runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, based on Android 15.
You can configure this phone with up to 512 GB of storage and 16 GB RAM but without a microSD card slot.
Camera
The device is equipped with a dual-camera configuration on the back. Specifically, the 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, combined with optical image stabilization (OIS), is built for sharp and detailed images, even in low-light conditions. The 8MP ultrawide makes it easy to capture expansive landscapes or group photos.
On the front, there is a 20MP OV20B selfie camera, housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Battery and Pricing
Finally, one of the standout features of the Redmi Turbo 4 is its massive 6,550 mAh silicon carbon battery, marking the largest battery ever featured in a Xiaomi device. It supports 90W wired charging, for quick top-ups.
The base model, featuring 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, starts at $273. Meanwhile, the top-tier version, with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, is priced at $342. Keep in mind that these are Chinese prices and international price tags are likely going to be higher.
The phone is available in three colors—black, white, and sea blue.
