Mohsin Naqvi Praises Record Construction of F-8 Underpass

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a surprise late-night visit to inspect the progress of two major infrastructure projects in Islamabad: the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange and the Serena Chowk Interchange. These projects aim to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the city.

During his visit, the minister examined the newly constructed flyover at F-8 Exchange Chowk and the underpasses at Serena Chowk Interchange. He took special note of the recently opened underpass at F-8 Exchange Chowk, which was completed in a record-breaking 42 days. Praising this achievement, he emphasized the need for beautiful landscaping around the underpass to enhance its aesthetic appeal.

Minister Naqvi highlighted that this was the first time in Pakistan’s history that an underpass had been completed in such a short timeframe. To ensure the timely completion of the projects, he directed that construction should continue in three shifts, with an additional workforce deployed during night hours.

The minister stressed the importance of meeting the project deadlines, as these developments will significantly ease traffic congestion and provide relief to citizens. He also instructed officials to devise a plan for smooth entry into the Serena Hotel, minimizing inconvenience for guests and travelers.

As part of the project enhancements, he proposed installing a majestic national flag at Serena Chowk Interchange. He announced that the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange would be fully inaugurated in February.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and project contractors briefed the minister on the progress. The contractors assured him that construction work is ongoing 24/7 and that both projects would be completed within the stipulated time, setting a new benchmark for efficiency in infrastructure development.
