KP Starts Financial Assistance of Families of Deceased Breadwinners

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced a financial assistance program for the families of deceased breadwinners.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that families of deceased breadwinners under the age of 60 would receive Rs1 million, while those whose breadwinners were over 60 years old would be granted Rs500,000 in financial aid.

He highlighted this initiative as a step toward transforming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into what he described as a “State of Madinah.”

Separately, the federal government had also approved a financial aid package for the families of missing persons last year.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, during a media briefing following a Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, announced that the cabinet had approved Rs5 million per family to provide legal and financial assistance to the heirs of missing persons.

The Law Minister noted that the package was based on recommendations from earlier committees addressing the issue. The cabinet also reviewed the committees’ final report and approved the establishment of a special committee to assess genuine cases of families requiring support.
