Rain is expected to return to several regions across the country next week, signaling an end to the ongoing dry spell.
Talking to a private news channel, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that rain is likely around January 20 due to winds entering Balochistan from Iran. He added that northern areas will also experience rain and snowfall following this period.
However, Karachi will not experience any rainfall during this weather system, Sarfraz noted.
Karachi continues to experience a cold spell, with temperatures recorded at 12°C, as per the Meteorological Department. Strong winds are forecast for the city today, and partly cloudy conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.
The minimum temperature in the city dropped to 11°C, while the maximum may climb to 25°C. Humidity levels are at 71%, and wind speeds are 10 km/h.
Meanwhile, Karachi ranks as the sixth most polluted city globally, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 184, indicating hazardous pollution levels. Residents, especially those with respiratory issues, are urged to take necessary precautions.
