The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced new measures to investigate individuals opting for high-cost Hajj packages under the private Hajj 2025 scheme, according to ARY News.
As per the updated guidelines, pilgrims selecting packages exceeding Rs3 million will have their Hajj process tied to security clearance.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will evaluate these individuals’ tax records and assets, while security agencies will review their criminal and other records.
Only after obtaining clearance from the relevant authorities will these pilgrims be allowed to proceed with their pilgrimage.
Companies offering such premium Hajj packages must also submit detailed information about the packages to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for review and approval.
To streamline the process, Mohammad Hakeem Khattak has been appointed as the focal person for coordinating the implementation of these new regulations.
These measures are designed to enhance transparency and security for those opting for luxurious Hajj packages.
