A Qatar-returned family was robbed near Ayub Park in Rawalpindi on Sunday by armed men dressed in police uniforms.
The assailants looted jewelry worth millions, along with local and foreign currency, before fleeing the scene.
According to the family, they had just arrived in Pakistan and were traveling to Mirpur when the incident occurred.
The robbers, posing as police officers, set up a fake checkpoint and used wireless communication devices to make their operation appear legitimate.
The gang, consisting of three individuals, carried out the heist using a car.
Police have confirmed the use of counterfeit uniforms in the robbery and have launched an investigation into the matter.
