RDA Issues Notice to Illegal Housing Scheme in Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has notified the CEO of Park View City Phase-II, an unauthorized housing scheme. A spokesperson stated that this action was prompted by unauthorized marketing, advertising, plot bookings, and ongoing development activities without RDA approval.

These actions contravene Section 12(5) of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Rule 4 of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021. Such unapproved projects threaten urban planning regulations and undermine local laws aimed at ensuring orderly housing scheme growth.

Kinza Murtaza, Director General of RDA, underscored the necessity of adhering to legal protocols. She emphasized that no project should engage in marketing, development, or plot bookings without prior authorization from relevant authorities.

Murtaza stressed that all housing schemes must follow due process and obtain RDA approvals to prevent illegal construction and promote proper urban development. She instructed RDA to take stringent actions against illegal advertisements and marketing, including filing FIRs against owners of these unauthorized land subdivisions.

Developers were found unlawfully advertising their schemes and offering plot sales without obtaining RDA approval, she added.
