The Climate Data Processing Centre has shared its forecast regarding the sighting of the Shaban moon in Pakistan.
According to the centre, the Shaban moon will be born on January 29 at 5:36 PM. It is expected to be visible on the evening of January 30, a Thursday. If the moon is spotted that evening, the first day of Shaban will fall on January 31, and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on February 14.
Weather conditions during the sighting are predicted to vary, with some areas experiencing clear skies and others facing cloud cover. The Data Centre further mentioned that the moon’s age at sunset would be 25 hours and 4 minutes, and it will remain visible for approximately 57 minutes after sunset.
For the moon to be seen, it must be at least 19 hours old, which will be fulfilled on this occasion. Shab-e-Barat is observed on the 15th night of Shaban by Muslims worldwide. Also referred to as Laylat al-Bara’ah, it is a highly significant night in the Islamic calendar.
On this occasion, Muslims participate in prayers, charitable acts, and fasting. Many also visit the graves of their loved ones to offer prayers, seek forgiveness for the deceased, and honour their memory.
