The School Education Department has announced the procurement of 200,000 Chromebooks to establish smart labs in public schools. More than 200,000 students, including out-of-school children, will be assigned digital IDs to provide them with internet safety tools and digital learning resources.
Under this initiative, Chromebooks will be used to educate 200,000 children through digital learning tools in collaboration with “Jumni.” Free digital IDs will be created for out-of-school children, granting them access to Chromebooks for learning purposes.
Additionally, 500,000 teachers will receive free Google certification via Chromebooks. Once certified, these teachers will train others, further enhancing digital education capabilities.
To integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into education, a partnership has also been established between Google for Education and the Punjab Education Foundation.
