The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Multan arrested a passenger who arrived on an international flight after discovering thousands of foreign SIM cards in his possession.
According to Dawn, authorities at the Multan airport stopped Muhammad Zohaib, who had traveled from the United Kingdom on Qatar Airways flight QR-618. During a baggage search, officials found 6,700 foreign SIM cards hidden in his belongings.
The FIA handed Zohaib and the seized SIM cards over to its cybercrime unit in Multan.
Legal proceedings are being carried out under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, and an investigation is underway to determine the intended use of the SIM cards.
