The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain in several districts of Punjab, including Lahore, as a rain-bearing system is set to enter the country on Friday.
According to the Met Office, the anticipated rainfall will bring a drop in temperature and provide relief from the prevailing dry conditions across the region.
Currently, Punjab, including Lahore, is experiencing dry weather, with rising daytime temperatures and cooler nights. The Met Department also noted that this year’s winter season has been relatively shorter due to recent climate variations.
On Thursday, Lahore recorded a minimum temperature of 7°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 24°C.
Most plain areas of Pakistan are expected to experience cold and dry weather in the coming hours. However, cloudy conditions with chances of light rain and snowfall are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
The PMD has forecast cloudy weather with chances of rain and snowfall in Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Light rain and snowfall are also expected in Srinagar, while Jammu is likely to experience partly cloudy and cold weather.
With the upcoming rain system, residents can expect a temporary respite from the dry spell, bringing much-needed cooling effects to various regions.
