Punjab is witnessing a shift in weather patterns as the winter season grows shorter and temperatures begin to rise earlier than expected.
The Meteorological Department reports that dry conditions persist across the province, bringing milder winters and an early onset of spring, particularly noticeable in Lahore.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 7°C, with daytime highs expected to reach 24°C. The dry spell is expected to continue for the next two to three days, with no rainfall forecast during this period.
Experts suggest that this year’s brief winter could signal a shift in seasonal trends. Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures as cold winds from Balochistan sweep through the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the cold spell will persist in the coming days, with temperatures possibly falling into single digits.
On Thursday morning, Karachi’s minimum temperature hit 10.9°C, a sharp 3.6°C drop from the previous day. The city remains under the influence of a western weather system, which is bringing chilly winds and a noticeable drop in temperatures.
