The Punjab School Education Department has made the decision to eliminate thousands of vacant positions across schools.
The department has requested data on teaching and non-teaching vacancies that have remained unfilled for the past two years.
According to a recent directive, vacant positions from Grade 5 to Grade 16 will be removed across all schools. A letter has been sent to District Education Authorities, instructing them to submit records of these vacant posts.
This decision comes after the department previously eliminated over 50,000 teaching positions. Despite this, numerous teaching and non-teaching positions remain unfilled in schools throughout the province.
The move aims to streamline staffing and ensure better allocation of resources in the education sector.
