The scope of the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme has been further expanded, now allowing young individuals to obtain loans not just for business ventures but also for purchasing laptops.
This announcement was made by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, who stated that the State Bank of Pakistan has officially issued a notification regarding the update. According to the new policy, students aged 18 to 30 enrolled in Higher Education Commission (HEC) approved institutions will be eligible to apply for laptop loans.
Additionally, financial assistance will also be provided to young individuals seeking employment opportunities abroad. Under the scheme, those planning to work overseas can avail of loans of up to Rs. 1 million, which can be utilized for training, visa processing, and travel expenses.
Rana Mashhood emphasized that the government is committed to creating maximum opportunities for the youth. So far, over Rs. 186 billion has been disbursed under the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme to support young entrepreneurs and professionals across the country.
