Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development to revive the Green Channel initiative for faster immigration and customs services for Overseas Pakistanis.
Speaking at the Overseas Pakistanis Global Foundation Convention, the premier acknowledged the importance of all expats and assured them that the government is committed to addressing their concerns.
He also noted the significant increase in foreign remittances which are up by 30 percent.
The PM urged overseas Pakistanis to actively support the Green Channel’s implementation. He also lauded the Punjab government for reclaiming properties from land grabbers on behalf of expatriates.
Addressing security concerns, PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fighting terrorism. He briefly mentioned the recent operations in Balochistan where 23 terrorists were eliminated.
