Pakistan and China have signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in areas including renewable energy, cement production, fertilizers, and coal gasification.
Sindh’s Energy Department and China’s Ming Yang Renewable Energy Company on Thursday signed an MoU to advance cooperation in renewable energy projects across Pakistan. Another agreement was reached for a coal gasification and urea production plant.
Thatta Cement Company Limited (PSX: THCCL) and China’s Qing Gong Construction Group agreed to build a production line in Pakistan to increase cement output by 5,000 tons per day.
The MoUs were signed during a ceremony attended by key officials, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and senior ministers.
Pakistan is always looking to enhance bilateral relations with China and explore further opportunities for cooperation, particularly through high-level exchanges. Zardari recently met with President Xi Jinping in Beijing to discuss the future of cooperation between both countries.
Both leaders reaffirmed support for each other’s core interests.
