The Sindh government has introduced the Thar Desert Train Safari, a tourism initiative to showcase the region’s cultural heritage and scenic beauty.
The route, tour duration, ticket prices, and other aspects of the train have been revealed.
The train will travel from Karachi to Chhor, near the Indian border, with stops in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas. Along the way, passengers will experience Sindh’s culture and desert views.
Upon reaching Chhor (Parchi Jeveri), travelers can enjoy the sunset, a bonfire with live music, and traditional Sindhi cuisine. Accommodations include staying on the train, camping, or lodging at resorts in Parchi Jever.
According to the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation, tickets start at Rs. 30,000 per adult. Sindh’s tourism minister emphasized that the safari will give visitors a deeper understanding of Thar’s cultural and historical significance.
Officials say that all tickets for the first trip have already been sold out. Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Sindh’s former minister of tourism, had said earlier that the train safari would allow travelers to explore Sindh’s historical landmarks.
