National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman retired Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt expressed his annoyance over 25,000 Pakistanis who transferred their own wealth abroad to secure citizenship through investment schemes.
Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), he discouraged brain drain and capital outflow to safeguard the economy.
He acknowledged that Pakistan could become a trillion-dollar economy within six to seven years but there was a need to focus on AI, cloud computing, and software development rather than relying on trade agreements like the European Union’s GSP+ scheme.
The chairman said rice exports had reached $3.8 billion, while total agricultural exports stood at $9 billion. Pakistan had transitioned from an import-driven to an export-driven economy, he added.
Chairman NAB assured that the watchdog was committed to preventing harassment. He invited KCCI to submit cases for swift resolution and announced new measures to strengthen NAB’s Businessmen Facilitation Desk with representation from key industry bodies.
When you people are not able to give relief to the Pakistanis from the corrupted Mafias (Bureaucracy, Ministers, Police, Sindh Government Haram Khour Home Department and other department who are begging the money from general public, Tanker mafia, Dumper mafia), then public is right to do this…. wait for more intense decision by Pakistanis.
When people forced to pay bribe, get no respect from any govt departments, no law for elite, no security of assets and nab chairman suddenly wake up and find people shifting their wealth abroad so he become unhappy. He is not a king, he is public servant. And govt should appoint the competent one who realise the root cause which everyone knows from years.
Pakistan and its nationals are suffering at the hands of the Pakistani government because its them who ares taking bribes from the Pakistanis nationals by force. Its the government who has collapsed Pakistan and its nationals. The government employees are just filling their own pockets. All institution are corrupt from education deptt to religious deptt (All government deptts)
On the other hand, duffers are legalizing crypto, making it even easier to launder money abroad!
And just one trillion-dollars in 6-7 years!
Their goals are also very small, we have already a one-trillion dollar economy if we include informal sectors with with 400 billion dollars in formal sectors. India could add another 5 trillion dollars by then on top of its 4 trillion dollars formal economy. I pray they don’t, though!

Why a General of Pakistan Army is running NAB?. Why NAB dont falls under judiciary?. Why NAB is not checking DHA and other Fauji foundation schemes? Also someone should tell NAB that rich are running away from Pakistan due to armtwisting and blackmailing of government authorities (including NAB) and no rule of law.
